Halloween Season is Over...

The Thames Society of Paranormal Investigations (TSPI) has had a busy October. However, this is nothing new. A paranormal society can be at its most active during Halloween. One could imagine the types of emails, phone calls that we receive when folks see the autumn leaves start dropping in New England. Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins are on everyone's mind, not to mention the horror movies and ghost hunting shows that are in heavy rotation this time of year. Many people love this time of year, and we are no different.

By the time October hits, TSPI has already been planning events for months. It is a culmination of careful planning and letting everyone know that these events exist. As a team, we look forward to these events, not only because we love Halloween. But because we get to share what we are passionate about, and love to spend time doing. Our paranormal investigations are our bread and butter, and it is something we like to share with those who share an interest in the supernatural.

We started the month with a lecture on ghosts at Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. Something that I have been doing annually for the college community since 2012. Then, we partnered with the Bradley Playhouse in Putnam, Connecticut, for the first time to do a public ghost hunt (10/08/21) where attendees could experience a ghost hunt first hand and have exclusive backstage access to a historic theater. Something that is rarely seen by those outside the world of performers. The event was successful, and we had some weird occurrences, especially in the basement dressing rooms. Finally, we ended our Halloween season with our annual event at the Ashbel Woodward Museum in Frankin, Connecticut. The former home of Dr. Ashbel Woodward is a historic depository of his life and the history of the Town of Franklin. The home is ever-changing, with new exhibits all the time and new historic discoveries from Civil War and the American Revolution. Again, we had another great event, where spirits came out to play. As I write this, I am happy that we can share these experiences with the public. I would thank everyone who supports our team and comes to the events. Your support is truly appreciated.

Stay tuned, we will be returning to the Bradley Playhouse in Spring 2022, and we will be doing some educational events and lectures in the coming months. We hope to see you at our next event.
